At Monksdown Primary our primary aim is to ensure that all children are able to access all aspects of the school’s provision in order to achieve the highest standards of achievement and make the greatest rates of progress possible in relation to their individual starting points. Pupil premium is funding to improve education outcomes for disadvantaged pupils in schools in England. Evidence shows that disadvantaged children generally face additional challenges in reaching their potential at school and often do not perform as well as other pupils.
Should you require any further information, please see the following guidance, issued by the Department for Education, which provides an overview of pupil premium for school staff, parents and anyone else interested in the pupil premium: Pupil Premium Overview Information.
As in previous years, our school will continue to use the pupil premium to improve the attainment of our disadvantaged pupils. The disproportionately high impact of COVID-19 on the education of disadvantaged pupils makes this more important than ever!
