Winter 2023
Year 5 have been taking part in Bikeability/ Bikeright this half term – Lots of certificates for Level 1 and 2 grades were achieved.
We have a new member in our class- she is very popular!

Week of 08/11/2020: 5.1 have enjoyed trying new things this week for children in need. We had a go at yoga in class, got active with Joe Wicks, read to year 2 and took on some tricky tangrams while putting our ‘growth mindsets’ into practice.
Week of 08/11/2020: Pudsey mocktails with Michaela.
Week of 18/10/2020: One of our class members made a poster for the year 56 staff room notice board with this important message, “Save the trees, don’t waste paper please”.
Week of 18/10/2020: 5.1 have been learning about texture, shading and drawing 3D shapes.
Week of 12/10/2020: 5.1 have collected lots of food for the harvest assembly.
Week of 07/09/2020: Art lesson
Week of 07/09/2020: Class 5.1 have settled in brilliantly in our first week and a half back. We have done a little bit of gardening, started work on our English ‘Journey’ story, practised our handwriting and worked consolidating our understanding of place value. We also found time to begin learning about the Anglo-Saxons and databases, combining the two by designing Anglo-Saxon kings top trumps cards!! All with smiles on our faces – what a great beginning, bring on the rest of the year…

Investigating friction in science.
On our readathon day we did lots of interesting activities based around the book Giraffes Can’t Dance. We wore our pyjamas and brought in our favourite book.
We have been researching the Liverpool ferry and creating a PowerPoint about it.
Learning the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
