Monksdown Primary School

Parental Involvement

SCHOOL NOTICES:

At Monksdown Primary School we believe that our pupils benefit most from their educational experience and care when we work in partnership with parents. Children have two main educators in their lives, their parents and their teachers.  Both have crucial roles to play and the impact of learning is greater if we work together with shared aims.  We want to make our school a welcoming place for parents with an ethos based on mutual trust and respect.

We want to parents to be immersed in our education, to be as hands on as possible and to feel they to are part of what their children are learning. From Learning Showcases, to Cookery Classes, From Celebration of Cultures to Career Carousels, we really do love nothing more than inviting our parents in to celebrate the children’s learning with us.  Just look at some of our recent events:

Learning Showcases

Our Learning Showcases give each class the opportunity to showcases their learning from across the year. Children become the teachers and immerse parents in a wonderful educational journey. Just look at the comments from those who attended the  events!

“Thank you for everything you do for Johnny, he was bursting with pride when he was explaining to us about John Lennon that he loves the beatles! This is down to the school it’s given Johnny a new passion, it’s all he talks about. We both loved the showcase and we look forward to the next one!”

“I really enjoyed seeing the showcase, all of the children did extremely well. After a tough couple of years missing out on Christmas nativities & showcases this made my day.”

Bakin’ with Dakin

After a wonderful afterschool club, in which children learnt to bake a variety of goods, the children put on their very own Afternoon Tea Party, inviting parents in to try some delectable treats.

At Monksdown, we value the opinions of all and hope that we can take any feedback on board to create a school the whole community can be proud of. Parents are regularly asked their opinions about the school as a whole, and of events they have taken part in. See below for some of our recent Questionnaire Reviews.
