Our Vision
At Monksdown Primary School it is our vision to provide children with a science curriculum that enables them to explore and discover the world around them, confidently, so that they have a deeper understanding of the world we live in. In order to achieve this we will promote and provide children with exciting, practical, hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity and questioning. Our aim is that these stimulating and challenging experiences will help children secure and extend their scientific knowledge and vocabulary. We believe in empowering children with a lifelong love of learning and instill in them the belief that questioning the world around them enables them to understand their place within it. It is with this core belief in mind that means science has an integral role in the entire wider curriculum. Developing an inquiring mind has a positive impact on all areas of the curriculum as well as the individual child themselves. |
