SCHOOL NOTICES:
Dear Parent / Carer
Meet the SENDco and ASD Training Team coffee morning
The ASD Training team from Liverpool City Council, will be holding a coffee morning in school on
Wednesday 1st October at 9.15am.
This will be an opportunity for parents/carers who are anxious about their child’s development / behaviour and wish to chat about their concerns in a group setting to come along and listen or ask questions. Tracey and Margaret who deliver the sessions are very knowledgeable about neurodiversity, which includes autism and can offer advice and support.

They can also signpost you to services which are available to support you. Your child does not need a diagnosis of autism for you to attend.
There will also be an opportunity to meet Mrs White the school SENDCo and hear about how we work in Monksdown Primary to support children with additional needs.
Whether you want to participate or just come along for a coffee and listen, we’d love you to see you there!
Kind regards
Mrs M White SENCo

At Monksdown Primary School, we believe that all children are entitled to an education which meets their individual needs where inclusivity underpins our practices. The SENDCo’s role at Monksdown is to monitor the implementation and impact of the quality of education for pupils with SEND.

Our Bespoke School Curriculum focuses on quality first teaching and a curriculum which is differentiated to meet the individual needs of all children and ensure all pupils can make progress. Our vision for SEND is person centered ensuring that the views and needs of the child and their family are at it’s heart.

On 1st September 2014, a revised Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice was introduced. The reforms aim to implement a new approach which seeks to join up help across education, health and care, from birth to 25.

Mrs M White is our SENDCo and can be contacted on senco@monksdownprimary.co.uk

If you have any concerns regarding any specialist educational needs or disabilities please request an appointment with your child’s class teacher in the first instance,  who will then inform the school SENDCo

We liaise with a wide variety of external agencies to support the provision in place for children with SEND, these include:
