There’s been lots of activities going on,

visits to Santa and the theatre were fun.

There have been Nativities and Christmas plays,

Christmas food and party days.

We’ve made Christmas cards

that say in a rhyme,

to have a wonderful Christmas time.

The people from Trees For Cities have been busy working all week setting up our edible playground.  It’s looking great, can’t wait to see it all when it’s finished.

The children in KS1 and KS2 enjoyed a drum workshop with Jeff Rich.  Jeff has been a professional drummer for all of his adult life and was the drummer with Status Quo for many years.

The people from Trees for Cities visited to tell us about the edible playground which will begin to be planted next week. We tasted different kinds of things that we could grow, some of which we’d never tried before.  We voted for our favourite ones.

Our Family Fun Day was all about games old and new. Everyone who came along had a great time playing the games then enjoyed some tasty food together.

Year 4 told their story to the rest of KS2, it was all about some very strange things that happened one Tuesday.  Year 2 then told their story which was “We’re Going On a Bear Hunt” and they did some brilliant actions as they told it.

The American author Alex McConduit visited our school. He read one of his stories, “Thorn in My Horn” and played the trumpet for all the children.  He told us about himself and answered questions about being an author.  Afterwards he worked with the children in year 4 to give them tips on story writing.
