The parents of 6 year old Bobby Colleran, who was tragically run over and killed by a van outside his school last October, are campaigning to improve road safety around schools. The Bobby Colleran School Road Safety Campaign aims to make school roads safer for children. Our visitor talked to the children about being careful and keeping safe on the roads around our school.
PARKING
As the area around the school develops, parking will continue to be restricted. If travelling by car, van etc. please leave home in plenty of time to be able to park safely a short distance away from school (in adjacent roads) and walk to the school premises. Your childrens’ safety is of paramount importance. The car park is for staff and parents of children with physical needs. Please don’t park in the car park.
On Wednesday 22nd June the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visited Liverpool. A group of our children had a wonderful time when they went along to cheer, wave flags and welcome them to our city. One of our year 3 pupils was very lucky to be chosen to present Her Majesty with a bouquet of flowers.
It was an exciting time for our school when the Queen celebrated her 90th birthday as it was also the 90th birthday of our very own Canon Todd and Monksdown School itself!
We had fun all week finding out about such things as food, school, toys, music and fashion over the past 90 years. On one day we all dressed in red, white and blue and everyone enjoyed a celebratory “street party” together.
Ms. Mrozik and some of the year 4 and 5 children told us all about the interesting country of Poland.
