Week of 01/03/2020: Digital Citizens getting ready for our assembly tomorrow.

Week of 01/03/2020: Stop Everything and Read!

Week of 24/02/2020: Today we began looking at two types of folds. We created examples of box folds and mouth folds.

Week of 24/02/2020: Today we made bar model representations to show different multiplications.

Week of 24/02/2020: We looked at the different layers within soil and created compost that we were able to eat.

Week of 02/02/2020: We improved our dictionary skills during spelling today, to find the definitions of some of our statutory words.

Week of 02/02/2020: We began looking at commutative law today in maths. We used the bead strings to show both ways of tackling the multiplications.

Week of 26/01/2020: Drawing fossils and printing fossils using different kinds of materials.

Week of 13/01/2020: We investigated a selection of rocks. We looked at whether they were permeable, durable, highlow density and whether they were hard or soft.

Autumn Term 2019

Week of 08/12/2019: 3.1 enjoyed cookery today. They made Kourabiedes – Greek Christmas cookies.

Week of 02/12/2019: 3.1 have been learning over the last few weeks to play the song ‘Jambalaya’. We have been learning to fluently play the chords C and F on ukulele, glockenspiel, keybaord and percussion.

Week of 02/12/2019: 3.1 were extremely excited today when they heard the surprise visitors that arrived at our school.

Week of 25/11/2019: We have been looking at the art work by Peter Doig and have been inspired to draw, sketch, paint and create trees of our own using different materials.

Week of 18/11/2019: We investigated pushes and pull using the equipment on the playground. We found out that an object needs a force to act upon it, in order to make it move. We decided whether the equipment required a ‘push’ or a ‘pull’.

Week of 12/11/2019: We researched the Mersey ferries and the surrounding area before our trip on the ferry.

Week of 12/11/2019: 3.1 had a wonderful time sailing along the river Mersey. We looked at some of the icon buildings along the waterfront and heard about the history of the ferry service.

Week of 12/11/2019: As part of our anti bullying week activities, we looked at the story of the ugly duckling and thought about how are actions may hurt others. We discussed times when we have felt like the ugly duckling.

Week of 15/10/2019:Today we looked at a selection of books by Quentin Blake. We used book talk to discuss any likes, dislikes, puzzles and patterns within the books.

Week of 15/10/2019: This week in art, we have been sketching buildings.

Week of 09/10/2019: Today we were finding the difference. We bought an item from the ‘shop’ and worked out change from £1. Here we are doing the talk task.

Week of 30/09/2019:2.3 We looked at a variety of classic poems and discussed the meaning of them in our opinion. We also created a summary of each poem.

Week of 30/09/2019: Megan Buckland came to our school to talk about ways to stay safe online. The children took part in a quiz about age ratings for different social media platforms.

Week of 30/09/2019: 3.1 started working on our PowerPoint project in computing. We learned how to format our background and are looking forward to inserting new slides with information about our local area.

Week of 30/09/2019:  We continued to look at shading in our art lessons.

Week of 23/09/2019: We have been learning to play ‘Everybody Wants to Steal My Girl’ on ukulele and keyboard since September by using the C and F chords.

 Week of 23/09/2019: We used google maps to locate places within our local area. We also looked for different services within our local area, such as hospitals and schools. We found the symbols for each and the distance for our current location. 

 Week of 23/09/2019: In maths, we circled the greatest value within a 2-digit number and proved this using the dienes apparatus.

 Week of 23/09/2019: Story Ordering -We sequenced the story of Jack and the Beanstalk to help with boxing up.

 Week of 23/09/2019: We created posters using known facts about the number 18. We then tried with other 2-digit numbers

Summer Term 2019

Week of 17/06/2019: We have been learning to play recorder this week.

 Week of 13/05/2019: Croxteth Park Trip

Week of 13/05/2019: We have been learning Zootime in Music, and have so far learned to sing the song, and play its chords on glockenspiel. Next week its ukulele!
