Thank you A&S Landscape Canopies for your generous donation to Monksdown Primary School. We will put it to good use to support the children. The lovely new canopies will be very welcome in the beautiful weather that I’m sure will reappear again soon!
Listen to our group of talented year 5 children singing the praises of reading in our wonderful library. You can find their video on the library page via the “Pupils” tab.
Well done to all those children who received certificates for their excellent attendance.
There have been lots of Easter activities going on this week. We’ve had Easter egg hunts, an Easter bonnet parade and bingo. We’ve been making Easter baskets and cards too.
Now on our “French” page (found under the “Pupils” tab on the home page), we have links to a list of ‘free’ resources that the children can use to support their French learning.
C’est bon!
World Book Day was great fun. There were some amazing costumes and we did lots of book related activities.
The children in KS2 were treated to an exciting display of sword fencing by the WL-fencing company. Some were lucky enough to be asked to take part trying out this Olympic sport. If your child would like the opportunity to attend the classes run by this company, please see the letter that was sent home for more details.
Have you noticed the latest additions to our infant playground? These lovely canopies will ensure our children can play safely in the shade once summer comes around again. A & S landscape also provided and fitted the new red shadesail on the junior yard. So now we’re looking forward to a great summer knowing we can enjoy the sunshine in a safe and sensible way.
Some of our year 5 pupils, along with Mr. Wignall, appeared on BBC Breakfast television this week showing us what super scientists they are.
