SCHOOL NOTICES:

Year 5-6 Girls Football

What a fantastic performance.  Full of passion and in good spirit, whatever the result, this truly great team showed exactly what It takes to represent their school and have fun! We so proud of you all! Let’s keep it up!

Family Fun Event

A great time was had by all at the Family Fun Event on Wednesday. There were stalls giving children the chance to learn about lots of different sciences, including aerodynamics, germ spread, computer science and buoyancy/friction. Mrs Wright once more wowed with her culinary skills whilst Mr Allen hosted the Science quiz.

Debate Academy

Monksdown hosted the second meeting of the Debate Academy on Friday.

Job Junction

Year 6 had a fantastic opportunity this morning to meet a number of professionals from different vocations and learn about what they do for a living. The children had an opportunity to ask each person about their career in a Q&A session and then moved over to our KS1 hall to talk to a number of other professionals about what their jobs entail. The children were really engaged and discovered first hand about particular careers they may choose to pursue.

World Book Day

What a fantastic World Book Day! Everybody in school came dressed as their favourite hero and the children’s efforts were very impressive. From doctors, nurses and teachers to crime fighting caped crusaders, children and staff alike came dressed to the hilt and ready to save the day. We also had visiting author, Alicia Wright read one of her books during our World Book Day assembly.

Football Competition

Well done to the year 6 football team who fought hard in the Liverpool Academy Football competition this week. The children were really enthused to do well knowing it would be the last time they would be representing our school.
